One of KC’s premier sports painters, Anthony “AO” Oropeza, is known by thousands for capturing the athleticism, grittiness and beauty of his athletic subjects. For over a decade, one of AO’s goals has always been to capture an essence of athletic beauty in every piece, so the viewer feels the drama, emotion and the artistry of the moment.

With every piece you will see multiple levels of artistic work, the in-the-game moment of the player, the use of graphics to enhance the layout and a unique use of background abstract art, all adding up to dynamic display of artistic creativity.

AO Paints Large

We understand that size requests may vary, and we welcome all requests of any size, but AO’s most comfortable, common and most popular size of painting is 2ft x 3ft (24″x36″).

The next most popular size is 3ft x 4ft (36″x48″).  AO is able to painter larger that the 3ft x 4ft (36″x48″) size.

Price / Fees

A 24×36 AO Original for one (1) athlete can range from approx. $3,000* to $3,500* with 6-8 weeks to complete.

A 36×48 AO Original for one (1) athlete can range from approx. $4,800* to $6,500* with 6-8 weeks to complete.

Comic Book Art

AO’s original comic book and character art commissions will range based off of the type of art desired.  Please review the Comic Book Art and Price options:

  • Painting – Starts at: 18×24-$500 / 24×36-$2,500
  • Colored / Ink Drawing – One Character: 11×17- $275 and up
  • Ink Drawing – One Character: 11×17- $200 and up
  • Pencil Drawing: One Character: 11×17- $100 and up
  • Murals – Interior / exterior – visit our contact page

Please rest assured, AO treats all commissions/freelance projects with the utmost attention and care, no matter what the subject or size – thus – the AO Originals Project List (see below).

These pieces take time and in order to make sure AO is the right fit for you and your project, a meeting and discussion about you project / vision is a crucial part of the process.

First Step: Let’s Meet – Tell us your ideas & vision, needs while AO listens, jots down notes & asks a few questions. Let’s determine if artist, client and price range are good fits. Set up a time to meet – Contact Page

Second Step: Let’s determine if project, timeline and start date are doable.

Third Step: Let AO submit a quote with require downpayment to lock your spot on project list.

Fourth Step: Receive down payment and start the painting design mock-up process.

Fifth Step:  Get placed on the AO Project List and let the magic begin!

Down Payment – Secures Your Place

Your down payment gets the project rolling. Once your down payment is receive, you will be notified and your project is secured and locked-in on the AOART5 Project List and can not be bumped.

 

Making a Down Payment

We’ll invoice you with down payment amount via PayPal.   You can mail or hand deliver a local bank check or Money Order (no travels Checks) to AO at his Studio or you can make down payment via our PayPal emailed invoice. If down payment is made via a bank check or Money Order, please allow (7) days for check to clear.

 

Payment Process 3 Steps

First Step: Place Down Payment (see above)

Second Step:  Pay amount requested

Third Step: Final amount paid before art work is shipped, pick-up or delivery

 

AOART5 Project List

Once your down payment is receive, you will be notified and your project is secured and locked-in on the AOART5 Project List and can not be bumped.

 

Cancellations / Non-Refundable Down Payments

By AO – If AO/AOART5 LLC cancels the project for any personal/business reason, and if he is not able to work on the project after receiving a down payment, AO will refund the customer in full – 100%.

By Customer – The down payment is non-refundable. If the customer decides to cancel the order for any reason after the project design process has begun and if project materials (rights to all photography, reference materials, canvas, paint, sketcher bars, etc.) have been purchased the down payment is non-refundable.

If a client cancels before any work is started – half of the down payment may be refunded.

If client cancels order, for whatever reason, and at any stage in the process, down payment will not be refunded, AO has all rights to the project and may complete the project and may in fact sell the piece on the open market to any buyer.

 

Taxes

Kansas taxes apply for all applicable sales.

 

Custom Crate & Shipping & Handling (US Only*)

Delivery: If client resides in the KC metro area – AO can schedule a delivery date and time.

Pick-Up: If client wishes to pick-up piece – client can schedule a pick-up date and time.

Shipping & Handling: If Client does not live in the KC metro area – AOART5 can ship to client anywhere in the US.

Shipping Cost: AO will build a custom crate container to ship artwork to out of town client.
An additional amount (approx. $300) will have to be added to the cost for a custom built crate.  The S&H amount will be determined based off of client’s address.  S&H amount will vary based on distance and size of the piece. All S&H costs (prices, S&H, delivery, taxes, etc.) will be discussed/quoted before work starts and has to be approved & paid before shipped.
