Another great Planet Comicon event! If you missed the 2026 March Planet Comicon Kansas City (PCKC), you missed a good one! This years con gave Kansas City and its tens of thousands of guests another spectacular pop art and comic book event! And your favorite friendly neighborhood sports artist (and team of misfits) was honored to be a Guest Creator at the monster event for their 5th year!
At the 2026 KCPC, hundreds of sports and art fans alike dropped by the AOART5 tables to checkout the art, pick up a print, chat about art and sports, and peak at some live paintings by AO!
This year at the con it featured guest athletes like former Chiefs Neil Smith and Deron Cherry and sports podcasters like Farzin Vousoughian with his Chiefs Zone podcast, who was cool enough to drop by and chat it up with me at my table about his favorite print – AO’s Mahomes Helmet Crash.

AO Returning in 2027!
If that was not cool enough, AO and the AOART5 Studio are again super honored to announce that AO will be a Guest Creator for the 2027 Planet Comicon for his 6TH STRAIGHT YEAR! He is now planning how to make visiting his table an even cooler experience!

Guess Who’s Back? Back Again- at 2026 Planet Comicon!
The AOART5 Studio is super honored to announce that for the fifth year in a row, one of your favorite KC premier sports artist and KCK native, Anthony “AO” Oropeza, will be a Guest Creator at Planet Comicon!
He will have on display and for sale both original and printed sports art as well as painting an AO Original – LIVE – at this years Planet Comicon event! AO is also thinking of drawing live comic book sketches of both comic book favorites and KC sports heroes as well! We will see what new stuff he brings to the 2026 table!
