The collector was gracious enough to trust AO to make a piece of his friend and a hometown hero. Another great thing about this piece is that Knowles is not only an MLB All-Star, but a 3-time World Series Champ and MLB record holder
About Darold Knowles – Pitcher, Oakland A’s ’72-74″
Born in Brunswick, Missouri on December 9, 1941, Darold Knowles played for 8 teams in his Major League career. (Baltimore Orioles (1965), Philadelphia Phillies (1966), Washington Senators (1967–1971), Oakland Athletics (1971–1974), Chicago Cubs (1975–1976), Texas Rangers (1977), Montreal Expos (1978) and the St. Louis Cardinals (1979–1980)).
Knowles was also an MLB All-Star in 1969 and a 3-time World Series champion (1972–1974).
In the 1973 World Series, Knowles became the only pitcher to date to appear in all seven games of a World Series.
