“Beauty and the Beast” – an AO Original
Created for a cause. Almost never donating originals, artist and designer, AO, wanted something special for a 2018 local KC charity event. This organization is something special and is near and dear to his heart.
For this year’s event, he created something extra special – an original painting of one of his Disney favorites – Beauty and the Beast. Not knowing how it would come out, the expectations were high and like always – he delivered.
The piece, as well as the event, were a total success, and AO was glad that his work and dedication to community had a small part in it’s success.
A Versatile Designer/Artist
Although it seems AO just paints sports pieces, don’t be fooled. He will never shy away from his roots – the love for Disney, animation, cartoons and comic books! With that, AO brings an excitement and his unique style to the comic book and animation pieces.
From AO about the work: “Designing and painting the “Beauty and the Beast” piece gave me an opportunity to take a “couple minutes” and step away from my sports art and work on a cool piece that was not as raw and rugged as the athletes I normally paint. Although the Beast himself is a big rough-looking creature, I wanted to stay true to the Disney design of the character and make him as gentle and serene as the moment, the mood, and more importantly – to mirror Belle. Part of me wishes I could have kept the piece for myself, but it made a nice amount for the charity I am connected with, which makes all the hard work and the donation worth it. Ultimately, and most importantly, for me, it will help kids and parents in my hometown of KCK.”
